Shams Iron & Steel Complex is constructing on a plot of land with an area of 23 hectares in Ajabshir industrial zone in East Azarbaijan state. The convenient geographic position and easy access to infrastructure facilities (such as water, electricity and natural gas) can be the important reasons for choosing this location for construction.

Under construction plants of this complex are described as below:

• MIDREX Direct Reduction plant with annual capacity of 1,500,000 tons.
• Steel Making plant with annual capacity of 1,500,000 tons.
• Air Separation Plant for the production of 10,000 Nm3/h gaseous oxygen.
